GLOBAL S&E HIGHER EDUCATION – BENCHMARKS
For most of the top countries or nations awarding S&E doctorates, the largest proportion was awarded in physical and biological sciences and mathematics and statistics. However, in China, South Korea, and Japan, engineering students receive the most S&E doctoral degrees.
More international students come to the United States than to any other country. However, the number of international S&E students enrolled at U.S. institution of higher education has declined.
